Our Mission…
I can’t tell you how many times clients have shared their bad experiences of getting their nails done. Before I became a nail technician, I had plenty of those experiences myself.
Appointments that never started on time, then slipped further behind because a walk-in took priority. Salons that felt unclean, crowded, loud and stressful. Treatments that were rushed or painful, with natural nails filed too thin, skin cut and burned by the drill - sometimes followed by irritation when you flinched or said it hurt. Then there were the uneven nails blamed on your “wonky fingers” (which, mysteriously, weren’t wonky before the appointment…).
You wouldn’t dare ask for nail art, and even getting the colour you’d chosen could feel like a gamble. You’d sit quietly, wishing the appointment would end, only to be charged far more than you’d been quoted. If you questioned it, the excuses would start: “The price list on the wall is old”, “That colour costs extra” or “It was £5 to fix a broken nail last time, but now it’s £15”. There was no consistency or transparency, and as a young woman, I often felt too intimidated to challenge it. I’d find myself desperately trying to work out where to magic up the extra money, filled with anxiety and shame over a price I’d never agreed to. Nobody should leave a beauty appointment feeling like that. Those experiences stayed with me, and when I started Buck Beauty, I knew I needed to create the kind of salon I’d wanted to experience myself: somewhere your time is respected, your natural nail health matters and getting your nails done is something you actually look forward to.
Here at Buck Beauty, your appointment time is reserved just for you. You won’t be rushed or pushed aside to make room for a walk-in. Your nails will be treated with care, skill and proper technique, with attention given to every stage, from preparation to the finished design.
I want you to feel comfortable asking for the nails you really want, whether that’s a beautifully simple manicure or the nail art you’ve been saving for months. If there’s a particular colour or a product needed for a new design that I don’t have, I’m happy to order it in especially for you - just let me know ahead of your appointment. And if you’d like something adjusted along the way, please say so. You should never feel awkward or be made to feel bad for asking.
That same care carries through to all of our services with honest, transparent pricing, thorough cleaning between appointments and a friendly, welcoming atmosphere. We can chat, you can unload your week, and you can relax knowing you’re being listened to and looked after.
